Frequent problems of pool waters

Problem

Black and/or dark green spots on the walls, etc.

Reason:
Black algae
 due to low hygiene in swimming pool water

Treatment:
Remove stains with a brush and use ALGAECIDE SET – Against black algae as directed.

Prevention:
Keep free chlorine levels between 1-3 ppm  STABILE KLORN  Tablets, Alga-Shock
granules. . Use Algi-cid– as a supplement,  Dinadox A+B for community pools.

Yellow or orange spots on the walls, etc.

Reason:
Mustard Algae

Treatment:
Use Algi-cid as directed on the label

Prevention:
Keep pH between 7.2-7.4. Apply Algi-cid weekly.


Reason:
Iron
in water

Treatment:
Use Antiscale P Spot Remover to remove iron stains. Check the pH.

Prevention:
Add Dinax Metal Magic (1/2 bottle) to 40,000 litres of water. Adjust pH between 7.2-7.4 before adding.


Reason:
Sticky yellow
deposits

Treatment:
Use Dinax Cover Cleaner to remove yellow build-up from walls and pool floor.

Prevention:
Use Dinax Cover Cleaner regularly to remove dirt.

Murky green water

Reason:
Green algae

Treatment:
Apply Algi-cid to break down the algae.

Prevention:
Add Algi-cid:10 ml/m³ every 5-7 days after the initial treatment to maintain the desired condition


Reason:
Copper or dissolved iron
in the water

Treatment:
Use Dinax Metal Magic to remove minerals from water

Prevention:
Add Dinax Metal Magic: (1/2 bottle) to 40,000 gallons of water. Adjust pH between 7.2-7.6 before adding.

Brown or reddish pool water, brown spots/rust

Reason:
Metal corrosion on pool equipment due to low pH

Treatment:
Adjust pH between 7.2-7.6 by adding Dinax Plusz P. Use Dinax Cover Cleaner to remove stains on the surface

Prevention:
Adjust the pH of the water to the water balance using Dinax Plusz P or Dinax Alkaline Plus P


Reason:
Iron
or dissolved manganese in the water (typically for well water).

Treatment:
Add DEWAN-18 followed by Dinax Metal Magic to the water to remove discoloration. Test the pH.

Prevention:
Add Dinax Metal Magic at the water replacement rate to prevent discoloration of the water. Test the pH.


Reason:
High pH
and total alkalinity.

Treatment:
Reduce by adding Dinax Mínusz F

Prevention:
Test and adjust pH daily between 7.2-7.6 and total alkalinity between 75-120 ppm.


Cause:
Non-metallic
accumulations

Treatment:
Use De-Vízkő G to remove visible non-metallic deposits

Prevention:
Check water balance weekly.

Clean green water

Reason:
Dissolved copper or iron in the loaded water

Treatment:
Use Dinax Metal Magic to remove inactive minerals in the water

Prevention:


Reason:
Corrosion of copper/metal pipes and swimming pool equipment.

Treatment:
Use Dinax Metal Magic to inactivate mineral elements

Prevention:
Adjust the balance of the pool water


Reason:
Very high pH and total alkalinity

Treatment:
Improve by applying Dinax Mínusz F

Prevention:
Test and adjust pH daily between 7.2-7.4 and total alkalinity between 80-120 ppm.

Troubled water

Reason:
The filter does not remove small particles

Treatment:
Use Dinax Flock F 100 ml to increase filtration efficiency

Prevention:
Dose Dinax Flock F 100 ml weekly


Reason:
Free chlorine
content is too low.

Treatment:
Apply shock treatment with  Alga-Sokk

Prevention:
Maintain free chlorine levels at 1-3 ppm at all times, regardless of pool use or weather conditions. Shock every two weeks with Alga-Sokk.


Reason:
Imperfect filtration

Treatment:
Clean filter withDinax Filter Cleaner according to label instructions

Prevention:
Use Dinax Flock F 100 ml weekly to collect microparticles for more efficient filtration.


Reason:
Precipitation

Treatment:
Shock the water with  Alga-Sokk to break down dirt, de-odourise, and remove odour and dirt.

Prevention:
Shock every two weeks with Alga-Sokk


Reason:
High pH and total alkalinity.

Treatment:
Reduce to correct level with Dinax Mínusz F

Prevention:
Test and adjust pH daily between 7.2-7.6 and total alkalinity between 75-120 ppm.

Oil/soil on tiles and/or foil

Reason:
Accumulation of oils and facial water

Treatment:
Dinax Szegélytisztító F and De-Vízkő G will easily remove and keep tile and/or foil shiny.

Prevention:
Apply Biopool-G weekly to prevent build-up and for better filtration.

Calcium scale deposits

Reason:
Hard water

Treatment:
Use De-Vízkő G and Dinax Cover Cleaner to remove water scale deposits

Prevention:
Add Dinax Metal Magic F to prevent water scale deposition


Reason:
High pH and total alkalinity

Treatment:
Improve levels by applying Dinax Mínusz F

Prevention:
Test and adjust pH daily between 7.2-7.6 and total alkalinity between 80-120 ppm.

Skin/eye irritation

Reason:
Bound chlorine levels are very high

Treatment:
Shock with  Alga-Sokk to break down chloramines (bound chlorine)

Prevention:
Keep disinfectant levels between 1-3 ppm at all times. Routinely shock with Alga-Sokk.


Reason:
pH is either too low or too high

Treatment:
Adjust to a good pH using Dinax Plusz or Dinax Mínusz

Prevention:
Test daily and adjust pH between 7.2-7.6

Chlorine smell

Reason:
Bound chlorine in swimming pool water

Treatment:
Shock with  Alga-Sokk to break down bound chlorine caused by accumulated unfiltered contamination

Routinely shock with Alga-Sokk to oxidize the contaminants that cause the formation of bound chlorine. After treatment, the water is ready for use immediately. Treat weekly with Biopool-G– as a routine preventive treatment.

Contamination strip at the water surface

Reason:
Body oils and fats, dirt accumulation

Treatment:
Add Biopool-G-t (100% biodegradable) to remove oils. Clean the wall and surface with DINAX Edge Cleaner F

Prevention:
Keep the filter clean by cleaning regularly with Dinax Filter Cleaner. Shock the water after heavy use with Alga-Sokk. Add Biopool-G weekly to keep the water clean.
