The brownish discolouration of pool water is mainly caused by the iron or manganese content of the filling water reacting with chlorine.
This can appear in the total volume of water, giving it a brownish tint, or in the form of stains on various surfaces.
In these cases, we recommend the following procedure:
- Let the chlorine level drop
- Pour 2.8 kg of DEWAN-18 per 10 m³ into the pool water and start the rotation. 8.5 litres of DEWAN-7 are needed for 10 m³ of water.
- Once mixed in the total water volume, it will remove brown discolouration and dissolve iron and manganese deposits within a few days.
- Repeated chlorination can cause iron and manganese stains to reappear, which can be prevented by using DINAX METAL MAGIC F.
- After the brown colour or the stains have disappeared, add 30-50 ml DINAX METAL MAGIC F to 1 m³ of pool water to prevent the reappearance of stains
- During the treatment, the pool can be used, DEWAN will have a disinfecting effect instead of chlorine. Any remaining DEWAN can be used for further disinfection, but under no circumstances should chlorine be added to the pool while DEWAN is in use.
- When the DEWAN has disappeared from the pool (verified by the DEWAN-50 dipstick), you can restart chlorination. For health reasons, it is advisable to stick to chlorine-free disinfection and continue using DEWAN-18/ DEWAN-7.
